Vermont is likely to receive almost $1.5 billion through the federal stimulus package, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. About two-thirds of the money will be direct aid to state and local governments and competitive grants. In addition, individual Vermonters will get nearly $500 million in tax cuts in 2009 and 2010.
